Eau Claire County appoints first ever Deputy DA
The Eau Claire County District Attorney’s Office is pleased to announce Attorney Peter Rindal as Eau Claire County’s first ever Deputy District Attorney. The appointment of Attorney Rindal to this position is the result of the county’s population officially exceeding 100,000 people and the subsequent approval process for the position through the State of Wisconsin’s Department of Administration.
In his role as Deputy District Attorney, Attorney Rindal will add supervisory responsibilities in addition to his caseload. He will continue to primarily prosecute felony drug cases. Attorney Rindal will also work with District Attorney Gary King on all matters related to the functioning of the District Attorney’s Office. These functions include, but are not limited to, supervision of attorneys and support staff, as well as training and outreach with all county affiliated law enforcement agencies.
Deputy District Attorney Rindal has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2005. He also received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2009. Following law school, he worked as a volunteer attorney in the Eau Claire County District Attorney’s office and then as an Assistant District Attorney in the Monroe County District Attorney’s office from 2009 to 2012. From 2012 to 2013, he was an Associate at Weld, Riley, Prenn & Ricci, S.C. in Eau Claire where he performed transactional and litigation work, including work as contracted Corporation Counsel for Jackson County. Deputy District Attorney Rindal joined the Eau Claire County District Attorney’s office as an Assistant District Attorney in August of 2013. He is a native of Fall Creek, Wisconsin.
