The Register of Deeds office serves as the official county repository for land records and vital records, implementing statutory changes, system modernization, program and procedure evaluation to assure quality and timely customer service.
The Department files and records real estate documents such as deeds, mortgages, satisfactions, subdivision plats, certified survey maps and Federal tax liens utilizing optical imaging technology for permanent storage and retrieval.
Birth, death, marriage, domestic partnership and military discharges are indexed and filed in safe archival storage for convenient access to issue certified copies upon request.
